PAT Testing BookAssess each stage of the work and highlight any points where ‘dead’ working will not be possible. The Health and Safety Executive can provide essential information on risk assessments to help with this.

Ensure that your equipment has an up to date calibration and is free from faults.

During the job remember to take responsibility for the risks to yourself and others, and ensure you have done all you can to minimise this risk.

Ensure that your labels can be clearly seen and consider using a professional label printer. It would also be wise to label your own tools to ensure they don’t get mixed up with any other trades tools that may be on site at the same time as you are.
