PAT testing books are available to buy that can help you perform everyday PAT testing.

The most popular books available include;

PAT Testing BookHandbook of Portable Appliance Testing

This handbook was published as a joint project between PASS Ltd and Seggy Segaran, and is a great resource for anyone who has completed a PAT testing course and would like a reference guide to aid memory when performing more infrequent PAT tests. With a simple step by step guide, this tester is a reliable PAT testing book for beginner and expert PAT testing technicians.

Running A Pat Business BookStarting and Running a PAT Testing Business

This book focuses on the business aspects of starting your own PAT testing company. It does not focus on the methods of PAT testing but instead highlights essential aspects of running a business including, marketing, acquiring customers, invoicing and business management. This book is ideal for those wishing to branch out as independent testers and have completed the PAT testing business start up course.

IEE Code of Practice

IEE Code of PracticeThis is an essential book for all PAT testing technicians. Often dubbed as the PAT testing bible, this book is the regulation resource for the PAT testing industry. It can guide you through all the regulations for PAT testing and can back up any decisions you make in the field that are disputed by the client, for example, highlighting the reasons why an item has failed a particular test.

AT PAT Testers we always advise using a PAT book alongside a recognised training course, such as the One Day Competency PAT Testing course, taught by our very own expert PAT Tester Austin. Candidates currently receive the Handbook of PAT Testing free on this course. If however, you want an industry recognised qualification, we would advise completing the one day City & Guilds PAT Testing 2377-20 training course.

Currently, the three books above are given to delegates free when attending the Business Start Up PAT Testing Course at PASS Training in Stockton on Tees.
