Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester - 5th Edition

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is an updated version of Seaward’s Apollo 400. Like the Apollo 400, it has been optimised for the testing of workplace equipment in order to ensure compliance with the IET 5th Edition Code of Practice. To this end, it includes an eclectic array of electrical tests, including:

  • Low current earth continuity tests
  • Insulation resistance test
  • IEC lead test
  • Protective conductor current test
  • Touch current test
  • Load power/ current test
  • Alternative leakage current test
  • RCD test
  • Power socket test

In addition to this range of checks, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is also capable of performing point-to-point testing for earth continuity and insulation resistance (optional accessory is required). Moreover, the user is able to create up to 25 customised electrical and visual inspection test sequences, adding to the adaptability, versatility and efficiency of this instrument.

Results gathered by the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester are stored in its internal memory; the Apollo 400+ has the capacity to store up to 2000 tests results.  This storage capacity makes the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester particularly well suited to performing mid-volume testing. The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s updated firmware further extends its memory functions. For example, the user is able to filter data and can delete unwanted results. For further information, please see the following video.

What’s New?

Firmware Update

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s firmware has been updated to improve the instrument’s usability. To achieve this, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester includes a number of new and improved features, such as:

  • New user permissions for Bluetooth
  • The option to delete particular results
  • An option to sort data via a filter - the user can filter results according to a number of specifications such as their PASS/ FAIL status. This works to improve the data view.
  • An advanced search function
  • The ‘After Test’ function has been expanded to include an option to print test results automatically
  • Leakage test options have been expanded to include ‘ Worst’ and ‘Last’
  • The user is able to tailor drop-down lists to his/her requirements by deleting items in the lists
  • USB on-the-go technology facilitates the user’s ability to download information directly onto an Android device
  • Addition of a socket outlet test – measures main voltage and outlet wiring
  • Downloaded files can be named using unique identifiers ensuring that they can be easily found
  • Asset ID is displayed on all screens ensuring that the user is always aware of which instrument he/she is currently testing
  • A review step has been added to the Apollo 400+ allowing the user to check the test details before adding any final comments

Hardware Update

As well as updated firmware, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester also includes updated hardware, optimised to improve this tester’s practicality and convenience.

It includes an interchangeable, rechargeable battery which reduces downtime and an additional wiring harness, as well as test leads which feature stronger PVC insulation and more resilient probes, both of which are ideal for more demanding applications.

In all other respects, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester’s hardware is the same as that of the Seaward Apollo 400 PAT Tester and continues to include useful features such as a QWERTY keyboard and a high-definition, colour display.

Software

As well as its Bluetooth, scanner and printer compatibility, which allows the user to transfer data to a compatible mobile phone or tablet (Bluetooth), as well as print results, the Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester, is also compatible with the new PAT Guard 3.4 Software which includes Time Manager (software sold separately). This software allows the user to organise test results, produce reports and invoices, as well as manage the activities of staff.

The Seaward Apollo 400+ PAT Tester is a comprehensive, updated PAT Tester with features optimised for both current and future Apollo users, thereby ensuring that it is an easy-to-use, adaptable and versatile instrument suitable for the testing of workplace appliances.
