Megger PAT320 PAT Tester description

A new tester to the market the PAT 320 is part of the Megger 300 series of PAT testers recently launched in 2010.

The Megger PAT320 PAT Tester is quite simple to use. It has a button for each of the PAT tests, so all you need to do is plug the item into the tester and press a button for the test that you require.

The tester is capable of completing all of the required tests and can carry out Class one, Class two and RCD tests. It can also do the standard insulation, Load and Leakage tests. This tester is good for carrying out lead tests on extension leads, IEC leads as well as a whole host of electrical appliances. 

The PAT320 can test in “auto mode” which means that it will automatically steer through a series of tests to complete the PAT Test, for example it will automatically go through the bond test, insulation test and earth leakage, depending on which classification you have chosen.

These PAT Testers are great for those working in the electrical trade and the maintenance and repair sector. It does not have a memory so you will have to record the PAT test results while you test each item. This can be done in a record book or electronically, whatever you prefer.

If the PAT320 detects a fail then it will cease testing on that test if which it failed. Therefore indicating the test that it failed on. You can also set your own pass rates. If required the tester will allow you to carry out individual tests. Great for those who complete appliance repairs and upgrades.

Another tester in the 300 series is the Megger PAT350. This is the same as the PAT320 but with the extra feature of a flash test.
