The Electrical Industry Conference set to take place in June at the ICC in Birmingham has been put together by the ECA and has been marketed as an event all about business.

When they say that the event is all about business, what they mean is that it’s about understanding industry changes and managing these changes whilst keeping on top of new legislation and ensuring that businesses stay profitable in these difficult economic times.

Promising fresh thinking and insights into new opportunities for those working in the industry, those wanting to attend can choose to attend either the conference or exhibition, or both.

With guest speakers such as Ben Fogle, workshops on different aspects of the industry, how to manage issues, an exhibition, which allows attendees to meet suppliers, and the finale gala dinner and awards, the event is said to be unlike any other previous trade show.

In fact ECA are saying that this event is so different to any that have come before that it will set a new standard for trade shows in the future.

The programme of events is as follows:

  • Day one begins with the conference which includes the new inauguration of the ECA president for 2013 followed by discussions on building modelling, home automation, opportunities for contractors and a question and answer session.
  • Day two includes the meet the suppliers’ exhibition. Suppliers already confirmed include; Schneider, Legrand, Megger, Philips, JTL, Dimplex, ECN and many more.
  • Also on day two is the workshops which include the following subjects; lighting, home automation, fire and emergency systems, electrical power distribution, energy, business services and, digital communications and AV
  • Day three is the gala awards dinner which includes the ECA annual awards presentation. There are a number of categories which companies can enter into as long as they follow the entrance rules.

On the whole the event is one worth attending if you are in the electrical industry and trying to build a successful business.
