It’s Electrical Fire Safety Week this week which sees the coming together of the Government campaign ‘Fire Kills’, the Fire and Rescue Services and the Electrical Safety council in order to educate people of the dangers of fire and how to stay safe whilst using electrical appliances daily.

The ESC has reported that nearly half of all accidental fires in the home are due to carelessness with electrical appliances.

During the course of this week, the ESC will be conducting visits to shopping centres and trying to make people more aware of the risks of fire and provide them with tips to stay safe in the home and how to avoid common dangers and problems.

Also, the National Landlords Association has now decided to get behind the campaign and remind landlords to ensure their fire risk assessments have been thoroughly carried out on all their properties.

With all these influential organisations getting involved in the week, it is hoped that the number of deaths and injuries due to carelessness can be reduced and allow people to remain safe and well in their homes.

So as part of Electrical Fire Safety week, encourage all your clients to stay safe in their properties and point them towards the ESC website for further information on how to avoid electrical fires in their homes and businesses.
