How Do I Fill in a Label?

When filling in a pass or fail label there are various ways to do it, however there is an industry standard that PAT technicians should be aware of as this is the minimum requirement set out by the IEE Code of Practice.

Do I need a printer?

Label printers can be very useful as they allow the printing of labels whenever they are needed. A label printer will print a label with the status of either pass or fail, a barcode, the date of the test, the date of the next test and the name of the testing technician.

However, the cost involved includes the initial outlay for the equipment and repeat costs of new cartridges. It is important to weigh up costs and outlay against profit.
