Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers – Choice of Model Details

The Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers are available in the following three models:

  • Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester – Standard
  • Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester – 25A
  • Metrel MI3360F OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester - Flash Test

All of the aforementioned models are downloadable PAT testers, however, the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester – 25A is able to perform an earth bond resistance/ continuity test at 10A, 25A and 200ma; whereas the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester – Standard can perform an earth bond resistance/ continuity test at ONLY 200mA; and the Metrel MI3360F OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester - Flash Test features the added capability of being able to perform flash tests at 1500V and 3000V. 

As a result of this difference in testing capabilities, the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester – 25A is better suited to testing portable appliances which require a more rigorous continuity check, such as those found on construction sites and in factories and electrical equipment rental services. Conversely, the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester – Standard is ideal for testing class I, II and III appliances found in public institutions such as hotels and schools, as these appliances often do not require such comprehensive continuity checks. Alternatively, the Metrel MI3360F OmegaPAT XA PAT Tester - Flash Test is ideal for those wishing to perform checks on portable appliances after repair or maintenance and/or perform high voltage checks.

To facilitate quick fuse tests all models include an integrated testing module for accommodating all fuse types. In addition to this, the testers all feature additional test terminals for checking hard-wired devices.

Furthermore, the Standard, 25A, and Flash Test models can be used with Metrel’s A1283 Current Clamp to measure leakage currents and can be used with Metrel’s A1422 Active 3-phase Adapter Plus to test welding equipment in accordance with IRC/EN 60974-4.

Another difference to be found between these models is that each tester includes integrated filters optimised for each instrument’s area of application, resulting in a simple choice of test sequences. It is also possible to run pre-programmed test sequences for particular appliances via the AUTOSEQUENCE® function.

The user can also upload AUTOSEQUENCES® and test structures to the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers using the included PC SW Metrel ES Manager BASIC Software. Furthermore, this software may be used to archive data and write professional test reports.

Test results and sequences can be saved to the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers’ 8GB, microSD memory cards. The memory structure has been designed to facilitate the quick and easy recall and re-execution of periodic tests for saved devices, adding to testing efficiency.

Also working to improve the efficiency and simplicity with which tests can be performed is the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers’ Bluetooth capabilities. This communication function allows the testers to be used with Metrel’s aMESM Android SW App and Metrel’s Bluetooth QR Scanners and Printers (NOT included). Using the app and/or Metrel’s Bluetooth QR scanners the user can read QR codes to access saved test information which can then be used to populate Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers’ test set-ups. Once the necessary checks have been completed, the new information can be written in a QR code and Metrel’s Bluetooth QR Printers can be used to create a label with this code. This improves the simplicity and efficiency with which tests may be performed in both the short-term and long-term.

The Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers themselves are also simple and easy to operate. They feature a sophisticated user-interface; high-resolution, 4.3-inch, touch-screen, TFT display; and a keyboard. These features allow the user to input and access data by whichever method he/she prefers.

Finally, the Metrel MI3360 OmegaPAT XA PAT Testers support multiple user accounts, allowing a number of electricians to use the testers whilst also ensuring that each individual’s test settings and recorded data are protected.
